Very good course and in good condition when we played in March ‘22. The layout is great, as were course conditions with the greens in particular well -presentedSlightly more challenging than the sister course and well worth a visit.

The caveat to this review is that it isn’t based on me having a bad day (which I did!) as I have played badly on many courses but rated them highly. Conditions were poor with scrappy and uneven tee-boxes and the greens were untidy and very slow. Back 9 definitely less challenging than front 9, but also much better laid out to be fair. Buggies in poor condition too with little padding left in the torn seats. One of the few courses of the almost 200 we played across Europe, Asia, Americas and Caribbean that I definitely would not bother with again.

The location, layout, design and conditions were absolutely top-notch. I had an very poor round ( 21 points!) but enjoyed every one of the numerous swings of my clubs! We were unsure about starting at all given the rain but were so glad we did. Worth the drive to get to get to Espiche; we plan to squeeze a weekend trip back there (and to Boavista which is nearby) over the coming weeks.

Marginally disappointed in conditions when we played there in March 22. Opinions vary of course but I just feel that VDL Ocean was better, however it is some time since we played there. We all felt that the famous par 3 - 16th - is over-rated (but we have had the good fortune to play on many courses).Tees a bit untidy, although greens ran well (but not as slick as say Alamos). I wonder if VDL is losing out to nearby neighbours at Quinta ….. ? Much better options in the Algarve I feel.

Good course in decent condition with some good challenges. There was a little work going on around the course but that didn’t detract from the pleasure ( but did my poor score!). Don’t be put off by the long drive in from the gatehouse, past derelict apartment blocks. Very different when you get to the course itself. Probably less of a challenge than Alamos, but not to be missed.

We had to abandon after 4 holes due to lightening, but c’est la vie! From memory (about 8 years ago) it was a decent course and the holes we played certainly have that impression
